Winter sports on the Arlberg
As the largest ski area in Austria and fifth largest in the world, in winter the countryside around Lech offers reliable snow conditions, variety and fascination. Not only do skiers and snowboarders find everything they could possibly wish for, but there are also many other great winter sports facilities such as tobogganing, winter walks and snow shoe walking. Offering dramatic landscapes, well-prepared pistes and walking tracks, as well as a great selection of watering holes and aprés-ski, Lech is a village which has retained its original charm. There is a natural harmony existing between the natural world and the village of Lech, and this is one of our main plus points.
The Arlberg offers over 300 kilometres of ski runs – pure enjoyment!
Lech and its surrounding area is blessed with plenty of flat land and gentle rises – as a result 27 kilometres of prepared cross-country ski tracks are available throughout the winter.

Winter walking has its own very special character – contemplation, finding peace, breathing in pure fresh air, moving gently. The snow-covered winter landscape offers the ultimate chance to wind down and recharge your batteries. There is a variety of different prepared tracks, some of which are suitable for small children, whilst others offer cultural aspects to combine with your walk (Skyspace Lech by James Turrell)
